Machin's Sawmill has been a trusted, family-run business for over 100 years, supplying premium hardwood with a focus on quality and sustainability. Now in its fourth generation, it continues to deliver durable, responsibly sourced timber for homeowners, builders, and architects.
Established in 1914, Machin's Sawmill began as a modest, family-run operation in Wingham, New South Wales. Founded by Henry Machin, who moved from Dubbo to harness the region's rich, untapped forests, the mill initially operated in Killabakh before relocating to Elands.
Henry's sons, Wilfred and Mervyn, joined the business after World War I, pioneering the installation of on-site kilns for drying flooring—a first for the Mid North Coast timber industry in the 1930s. Throughout the Great Depression and World War II, the company expanded to five mills, supplying essential timber products for the war effort.
In 1982, under the leadership of fourth-generation manager Ralph Blenkin, the mill shifted focus from mass production to offering superior hardwood, emphasising environmental sustainability.
Today, with a dedicated team of 18, Machin's Sawmill continues to serve homeowners, builders, and architects, upholding a century-old tradition of quality, integrity, and personalised customer service.
